ReStore Volunteer Opportunities

 1. Driver Co-Pilot: The Co-Pilot assists our driver with picking up items for donation in Longmont and the surrounding vicinity. The Volunteer Co-Pilot accompanies our driver in a box truck to a donor’s location, helps load the items (usually including furniture and/or appliances) into the truck for transport back to the store which is then unloaded and prepared to sell. The hours for pick-ups are usually Tuesday -Thursday 10:00-2:00.

2. Retail Associate Volunteer: As a volunteer you would be helping to unload donations from donors’ cars (as you are able) and bring them into the store for processing. Donations need to be sorted, tested, cleaned, and priced. Some donations need to be researched to learn more about their value. Trained volunteers may be able to assist with pricing, which requires basic computer literacy. Processed donations are put out on the sales floor. Volunteers assist with merchandizing, stocking, and organizing our store to make it attractive to shoppers. Volunteers provide customer service to shoppers and greet customers in a helpful, courteous manner.

3. Volunteer Cashier: The Cashier is responsible for cashiering using our point-of-sale system, handling cash and credit card sales. Our goal is to be as accurate as possible with little to no overages or shortages and to follow the procedures for the cashier position. The area is to be kept clean and orderly and the cashier must enjoy interacting with customers, be able to answer the phone as needed, mark sold items to be picked up at a later date and provide excellent customer service.

4. Specialty Volunteers: Do you have a special skill or talent you are willing to share with the ReStore? Perhaps you enjoy fixing, building, cleaning, or organizing. Are you a tool person or do you love artwork? We will work to find a way to incorporate your interests and skills to help out at the ReStore.
